The Statue of Unity is a huge sculpture of Indian legislator and autonomy lobbyist Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was the main Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister of autonomous India. The sculpture is situated in the territory of Gujarat, India. It is the world's tallest sculpture with a stature of (597 ft) 182 meters. It is situated on a waterway confronting the Sardar Sarovar Dam on the stream Narmada in the Kevadiya settlement, 100 kilometers southeast of the city of Vadodara, and 150 kilometers from Surat. The venture was first declared in 2010 and the development of the sculpture began in October 2013 by Larsen and Toubro, with an absolute development cost of Rs 2,989 crores. It was structured by Indian stone worker Ram V. Sutar, and was initiated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 31 October 2018
